Event identity: from the logo to the finisher medal

A sports event lives on shirts, bibs, medals, banners and social media at the same time. One clear system saves weeks of production and makes the event recognisable year after year.

  • Design the system, then the yearly edition.
  • Plan production deadlines backwards from race day.
  • Medals and shirts are the souvenirs people keep: invest there.

A system that changes every year

For K3 Ultra we built a fixed structure, logo, typography and layout, and a new illustrated landscape for every edition. Runners recognise the race instantly and still get a new collectible each year.

Work backwards from race day

  • 10 to 12 weeks before: identity and key visual
  • 8 weeks before: medals to production
  • 6 weeks before: shirts and kit to production
  • 4 weeks before: banners, bibs and on-site branding
  • 2 weeks before: final social media and print checks
The medal is the one piece of your brand that people hang on the wall.

Design for the material

Sublimation on technical fabric, zinc alloy for medals, mesh for banners. Each material has its own limits for detail and colour, so the illustration is drawn with production in mind from the start.
